The binding

At the war’s end—if such a word can be used—Khuvior appears in the record like a mathematical proof made flesh. The Evengadul forged three great artifacts: a Crown-Veil, a Staff, and a Gauntlet; the peoples together shaped the Holy Urn; and Khuvior’s spell halted the Void by doing the impossible—binding the gods themselves inside the Urn and casting it into the hunger beyond. The chroniclers call it salvation and blasphemy in the same breath. Khuvior died to seal the world. And when the Urn touched the Void, it answered with a cruel birth: the Gnottover and the Gnetthyes, children of contact, proof that seals can also be doorways.
