The Zhongese navigator Zheng He was renowned far and wide for his Treasure Voyages, the series of expeditions across the southern seas that brought great riches to Dong Zhuo's coffers, mostly from neighbouring Bharat and Ma-i. In 1436, one of the heaviest storms in Asian history threw Zheng He's vessels off-course, causing him to travel Eastwards in search of rescue. In late 1436, around October or November, Zheng He and two vessels of Zhonghese sailors washed up on the East Coast of the Abla Yala. Upon contact with the locals, He learned that the land was called Klamath, or to his ears, Ke La Ma Si. This was the name of the polity that Zheng He would build on that shore.
