By November of 1919, the territory formerly known as Holy Romagna lay in ruins. The recently-freed Paladin caste had spent the majority of the year cleansing the cities of any Papal holdouts, fully excising Artiya'il's influence from the country. The smallfolk were caught in the crossfire of three holy wars: Ingfried Kriegmonte's rampage, the Kingdom of Hellas' final offensive, and the new Civil War between the Papal Holdouts and the Free Paladins. When the dust settled, Count Galeazzo Ciano was the last man standing. On the evening of the 27th of November, Ciano announced the formation of a New Rome - Nuova Roma - over the radio. Though fascism was not a new concept, no country had declared itself fascist before, and Nuova Roma changed this, changing the world as a consequence. This single event would paint the 1920s red.
