Before the events of the MCU, there were the Celestials, ancient cosmic beings who shaped galaxies and life itself. Among them, Arishem the Judge stood out as the Prime Celestial. Following the birth of the universe in a cataclysmic Big Bang, six concentrated singularities emerged, each forged into a powerful artifact know as an Infinity Stone. These stones embodied fundamental aspects of existence: Power, Space, Reality, Soul, Time, and Mind. To populate the universe, Arishem initiates a process known as the Emergence. He implants Celestial seeds within host planets, where they lie dormant until nourished by the energy of intelligent life. Once matured, the planet ruptures, giving birth to a new Celestial, beings capable of forging stars and galaxies, continuing the cycle of cosmic creation. But this process comes at a devastating cost. The energy required for a Celestial to emerge is drawn from the sentient life on the host world. To ensure this life flourishes, Arishem created the Deviants, genetically engineered predators designed to eliminate threats to intelligent species. However, the Deviants evolved beyond their intended purpose, turning on the very lifeforms they were meant to protect.
