Hellenic neuroscientists

Herophilus (335-280 BC) argued that movement comes from nerves; he was able to distinguish cerebrum from cerebellum and show the origin and course of nerves from brain and spinal chord.

Erasistratus (310-250 BC) disciple of Herophilus; he pioneered the first postmortem human anatomical studies. Found that nerves originated from the brain, not the dura.
