Despite the blatant neglect in the house, the kids always tried making light of the situation the best they could with Wendy secretly learning to sew clothes and bake apple pies for Danny and Jane often playing hide and seek tag when Adult Wendy was not in the house. These times really helped Danny grow closer to the two girls whom he already considered his older sisters by this point. A really important thing that happened in 2003, though, was Danny finding a broken handheld GPS in Adult Wendy’s room during a game of hide and seek tag. The GPS was broken in that the screen, though functional, would often flash constantly and/or stay frozen for long periods of time as well as giving wildly inaccurate locations. Danny, now with his tinkering mind turned back on, decided to take it back and try and fix it. At first he had no idea how it worked and actually set it on fire once, but over the course of a whole year, with the help of Young Wendy & Jane helping him hide it, he was finally able to not only fix the screen, but add on more buttons and gadgets in the back like scissors, a pocket knife, and even a magnifying glass, turning the GPS into a full multi-tool holder by 2004. Danny was so proud of the final result that he immediately wanted to show his sisters, however, before he could he was stopped by Adult Wendy, but not because he was in trouble. Adult Wendy told him that they were going to a fancy dinner to meet with the cast of both Peter Pan movies and for her to hopefully make amends with Peter. Because of this, Adult Wendy told him to stay home so he couldn’t “ruin her chances again”, preferring to only take Jane and Young Wendy with her. This didn’t bother Danny too much as it gave him the opportunity to have the house to himself but Jane and Young Wendy were absolutely infuriated by this and Jane even attempted to fight Adult Wendy before Adult Wendy swiftly took her and her sister by their arms and dragged them to the car, leaving Danny alone in the house. At first things weren’t going too bad and Danny occupied himself by wandering around the house for a bit until getting to the living room where he found his mother’s LumiVision TV, and to his surprise and delight, it was the exact model Peter had back in 2001. Danny, having now learned from his past tv mishaps, began to tinker with the back of the tv again, only this time, labeling the parts he took out and only taking out one piece at a time as opposed to all at once. Danny was having so much fun with the tv that he didn’t feel a huge starshift seizure coming on until it was too late and Danny suddenly started seizing in place even though he could still shake and even move. This seizure, known as a walking seizure, is one of the most dangerous seizures a character can have as during a normal seizure the body is supposed to block out all input so it can correct the stardust shift without issue, however a walking seizure makes the stardust shift even more, resulting in the seizure getting worse and worse to overcompensate. In Danny’s case the seizure was so bad doctors said it could’ve sent him into an astroslumber (which is essentially a permanent coma since Disney characters can’t die) But Danny was miraculously able to survive due to quickly rushing to the kitchen and eating one of Young Wendy’s apple pies that she had baked earlier that morning, fearing it would be his last meal. This helped due to the fact that apples are actually a known remedy of starshift seizures and had actually been an ingredient in his pills which is why they were so effective when he took them. But Danny was still scared and mildly traumatized after the seizure so, in fear, he cleaned up all the TV stuff, promising to never touch it again believing the seizure was a punishment for him tinkering, and went upstairs to his room to go to sleep. Danny woke up just as Adult Wendy and the girls came home from dinner, with Adult Wendy being noticeably angry at the girls as earlier at Dinner, Mary & Peter had again seen the signs of their neglect, with Peter saying he’d once again attempt to gain custody of Jane and Mary attempting custody of Young Wendy. But Danny, of course, knew none of this so from his perspective he only knew 2 things: 1) Adult Wendy was, for some reason, incredibly upset with his sisters and 2) his sisters were 100% planning something against Adult Wendy. He figured out the second fact once Jane & Young Wendy went upstairs talking about running away to some kind of…train. At the time, referring to the now very famous disappearing train they’d heard about from someone at the party, though Danny didn't know that yet. All he knew was that something bad had happened to his mom and he was probably gonna pay for it.
